Proof of lack of sleep - I've been cooking lamb shanks in the crock pot all day. The final step was to strain the liquid and remove all the bits and pieces from it (cloves, cinnamon stick, star anise etc etc), discard the crap, then return the liquid to the pot and thicken it for sauce to go with the shanks.
What did I just do??
I strained it alright, through the sieve, and into a COLANDER!!!! Thereby tipping all the 'sauce' down the sink! Stupid woman...
Guess I'd better go make some gravy or something :-/
